Exeter’s Interdisciplinary Institute brokers research across Exeter’s academic disciplines, centres, and projects and between the academic and public spheres. Conceived in the collaboration of the School of Arts, Languages and Literatures and the School of Humanities and Social Sciences, the Institute  incorporates research in the sciences, engineering, and technology, interfacing Exeter’s distinct strengths in cultural, natural, and built environments with needs and opportunities in the public sphere. In addition to research projects and their public applications, the Institute facilitates interdisciplinary masters courses and supervises Ph.D. students working across disciplinary boundaries.
