Mission
Statement
The Center conducts a monthly seminar series during the academic year
during which papers are distributed and discussed, in addition to
approximately two conferences. Topics covered range broadly, and include
consumer culture, technology, business and economic history, and social
theory. The Center publishes topical brochures which provide information
on the research collections at Hagley, in addition to the Hagley Papers,
devoted to the theme of industrial, business and technological history.
Short term grants-in-aid as well as a four month dissertation fellowship
are available. The Hagley-Winterthur Fellowship in Arts and Industries
(jointly sponsored by the Hagley Museum and Library and the Winterthur
Museum and Gardens) offers short-term fellowships to scholars interested
in the relationship between economic life and the arts. For further
information on grants contact Carol Ressler Lockman, email: crl@udel.edu.
