Mission Statement

The Humanities Center at the University of Vermont supports interdisciplinary teaching and research in the Humanities. The Center's focus is on graduate education. Each year the Center sponsors interdisciplinary graduate courses in the humanities bringing together students from the M.A. programs in Classics, English, French, German, History, and the M.A. and Ph.D. in Natural Resources. The Center also offers support to faculty from across the College of Arts and Sciences who do research in the Humanities. The Humanities Center offers two fellowships for graduate students in the Humanities.

In addition to co-sponsoring a number of events each year, the Center sponsors a biennial interdisciplinary conference in the Humanities.
