Mission
Statement
The Simpson Center for the Humanities is dedicated to fostering
innovative crossdisciplinary research and teaching in the humanities
and to stimulating exchange and debate on cultural and intellectual
issues among University of Washington scholars and the citizens of
the greater Seattle community. The Simpson Center is committed to
a broad conception of the humanities that includes the humanistic
social sciences and the arts, as well as the sciences and the professions.
