Many CHCI members offer fellowships, research support, and other opportunities scholars and students who are external to their university or organization. The following summary entries are provided as a starting point for the fellowhsip seeker and CHCI members interested in comparative information about programs at peer organizations. Please note that if an annual application deadline for a program has passed, it is listed in terms of the typical season or month in which it occurs.

FHI Seminar Postdoctoral Fellowships
Application Deadline: Mid-Winter

Up to three postdoctoral fellowships for scholars in the humanities and interpretive social sciences are offered each year. Fellows participate in the FHI's thematic Annual Seminar, and are required to teach one course
in the spring term of the fellowship year. The position provides a stipend, health and dental coverage, a fully equipped, private office, and a pool of research/travel funds. This is an annual, recurring opportunity, and new guidelines are typically made available in early fall each year. Click here for information on the most recent fellowship cycle.

ACLS Recent Doctoral Fellowships Program
The Franklin Humanities Institute is a participant in the CHCI partnership with the Recent Doctoral Fellowships program of the American Council of Learned Societies. In this program, CHCI member organizations may become sites for postdoctoral fellows funded by the RDR program. The partnership benefits the fellowship recipient by providing them with a site and context for their year of research, while also providing benefits to the host site in the form of a low- or no-cost external fellowship.
